Sorry if this has been posted previously - I couldn't find a specific thread.

I know that there are several great old-school places there. Overall, is Singletons pretty much the local favorite, or is the Sandollar across the river more popular?

We really like old-timey seafood joints, preferably with a view of the water. If there are any other places I'm not familiar with, please chime in.

Thanks in advance.

My dad liked the Seafood Kitchen. It's a few blocks from the beach, though.

Thanks for the tip, titaniummd. I'll check them out.

I have to admit, I'm pretty surprised at the lack of responses........

We love Safe Harbor and Singleton's is a great local place too, more rustic and old time atmosphere - it was on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" on the Food Channel earlier this year. We've taken the ferry across to the Sanddollar and like it too. Lots of great choices!

Singleton's is awesome!!!!!

Great food, atmosphere, service. It has it all. The view, the smell,
sounds of wood creaking and birds. Just a complete representation
of Southern coastal dining.

I am 59 and eaten shrimp all my life. Singleton's shrimp is unquestionably the finest I have ever had!

And, it is a shack.

Wow - Now THAT's an endorsement if I ever heard one!
Sad to say that I could probably comsume my weight in shrimp, buddy5.

I posted this in the Orlando forum a few months back. My favorite "shack" in New Smyrna Beach made the list:
