What does it cost to have an irrigation meter installed with JEA fees. Is it worth it. I'm useing 8000 gal per month for watering the lawn. This cost me $70. with the sewer charge.

If I remember correctly there are 2 different size of the meter connection so the price differs.
There is also a min $15 charge each month.
I would give them a call to get the list of prices.
Our neighbor had one installed and I think it was around $1200
We have a irrigation well and our water usage varies between 3000 & 4000 gal and we pay around $80 2 people.

I use the city water for hand watering of my potted plants and when I install new plants.
So if I was to use the well only I bet that amount would drop.

Check this link, then click on the 'Water Irrigation Application'. JEA - Water Irrigation Application There are prices on the application. I think most residential service is 3/4", which is $1150, but that does NOT include connecting the irrigation to the new meter. Also, keep in mind that you'll need to get a backflow preventer, which you may already have in place.

I'm trying to find out if it is cost effective to get a meter for my sprinkler system and run off city water or should I just have a well installed? I have a quote for 3100 dollars for a well install in Pace Florida? Any help would be appreciated.

Find out what your local water utility charges to install a separate irrigation meter and then what the average monthly expense will be. With a well, you have to purchase and maintain a well pump, then pay someone to install a dedicated circuit to that pump motor. also, you have to pay for electricity to keep it running when it's being used. Then, you have the possibility of that well pumping sand into your irrigation heads, which will create maintenance issues.

Updated link, by the way: https://www.jea.com/Engineering_and_...r_Application/

As of right now, it says a 3/4" meter tap costs a total of $1,150.

Eric (or anyone), just for clarification, I have two separate valves already to control water. One for house, and one for irrigation. Does the $1,150 still apply? Or just the $202.33 meter fee?

Edit; After looking at chart again I think we're talking $541.83
