Are there any nice parks near the airport? I am meeting my family in Jacksonville and we want the kids to just enjoy the day, have a picnic and run around and have fun. Anyone recommend any parks in the area?

If you can recommend any good bowling establishments that would be helpful too.

Happy new year!

Does the park need to be near the airport? If not, there are many parks in Jacksonville that are a little bit of a drive, but not far.

Little Talbot Island, an ocean front park about 30-40 minutes from JIA. Picnic tables, covered pavillions, and beautiful views of the Atlantic ocean. About 25 miles from the airport. There is also, close to JIA;

Jacksonville Huguenot Park

Yellow Bluff Fort State Park

George Crady State Park

Fort George Island State Park

Jacksonville Bethesda Park

Yellow Bluff Fort State Park

As for bowling, there is an alley on Dunn Ave, and one on 17 in Yulee, both about a 15 min drive.

Confederate is ok, but the ducks there create a lot of duck poop on the lawn.......plus the grass isn't as thick or lush. Not ideal for rolling around/playing on the ground really....
