I grew up in Madison, IN in the 1990's and am considering a move from Indianapolis back to Madison with my wife. If so, I am looking to open a small restaurant and eventually a small hotel.

Those who live there now, please tell me how the tourist business is in 2010. Could locals use a good, quality restaurant? I have been in this business for 15 years or so and instead of opening in the city would like to bring something uique to my hometown.

Also, my wife works in Higher Ed and would be looking at jobs with Ivy tech/Hanover College, etc.

How are the schools now? Tell me your personal thoughts on the city. What is the real estate market like? How is the new mayor doing?

Any feedback would be great. Thanks!
