I am planning to move from Indianapolis to Madison/Hanover area of Indiana in early November 2007. I will soon be opening a small business in Hanover. But I really do not know anybody there. I would like to make friends and maybe get just a single room to rent while I set up my business and establish myself. Is there anyone who can help out in this regard, either in Hanover or in Madison? I would really appreciate anybody that can help. Thank you.

Hello Rick! Comparable to Indy, there isn't much to compare as I'm sure you realize and are probably wanting. What particular type of business are you opening? Depending on the type, you may fair well to open Madison(downtown) or perhaps the "Hilltop" rather than Hanover. Housing- you'll find maybe 2 or 3 apt complexes in Hanover, all I believe are at least 2 bed, but mostly houses due to the enormous number of farmers owning land and renting the houses on them out. You'd have much better luck with housing Madison ranging from about 350 for 1 bed(that I know of currently) to 600 for a nicer 2 maybe 3 bed apt. Depending on your social preferences, downtown Madison has a one decent, for lack of a better term at the moment, CLUB, called the Electric Lady. Mostly younger crowds, 21-30, my age 24. Mainly live rock music on the main level and "urban", by way of juke box or requested through cd's on the top level. And several "hole in the wall" bars and one decent older crowd Blues/Jazz bar. I spent my teen yrs living in Hanover, moved away for college, and moved back, now living in Madison. Hope this helps!!

Thanks guys, and I am already here. Very difficult to adjust to the whole small town thing, but learning to like it. Business up and running, but slow as a snail. Hope it gets better. Some beautiful folks though.
