I don't always agree with the ACLU. And regarding illegal aliens, I definitely think they are on the wrong side of the fence with some of their positions. However, they have been an integral part of some landmark cases in this country I totally agreed with, and they were fighting for our freedoms as citizens.

Take that link in the original post :
"In its law suit, the ACLU argues that Carcieri overstepped his constitutional authority by requiring private companies to comply with the screening requirement."

That's a smear? For the ACLU to argue Constitutional law? Food for thought, illegal aliens don't like our laws either, especially the enforcement of them.

Granted, I'm not a lawyer, but I've read through some of these cases where municipalities were trying to establish some system of discouraging illegal aliens from taking residence, or discourage employers from hiring them, and I've seen re-occuring judgements, for example, 1) over-stepping the bounds of jurisdiction and attempting to enforce Federal Law.

A solution :
With regards to enforcement of Federal Law, there are things a community can do, i.e., local law enforcement participating in 287(g). So as citizens, you need to get involved, spread the word, forward the link to your local Sheriff's Office, City Council, Mayors, etc., and petition your neighbors if necessary. This gives your local law enforcement the ability to arrest illegal aliens.
ICE ACCESS Request for Information

I've been discriminated against because I don't speak Spanish, and I don't wonder, is it because I don't speak Spanish, or is it really because I wasn't born Hispanic? These "bilingual a must" employment ads are just a clever unsurping of our Constitution regarding discrimination. With my experiences in the workforce, I know it's racism. But you say this to anyone and they'll laugh at you, "So learn Spanish ha ha ha." And there are other issues being brought up in this forum where the ACLU is very relevant as an organization protecting citizen's rights.

You have the right to not be discriminated against because you are a citizen, i.e., Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA), which is not being enforced from what I can tell, especially when employers are arrested as co-conspirators to identity theft for the sole purpose of hiring illegal aliens.

Get smarter, faster.

I could be wrong, but I don't think ACLU is in favor of illegal aliens, per se, but I do think they're definitely an untapped ally in citizen's rights being trampled on with regards to illegal aliens. As a citizen, the ACLU is like a weapon to arm yourself with against injustice, and you're letting your letting illegal aliens play with your guns.

Why not give them an opportunity to discuss their positions here on some of these issues, and invite them.

I was wrong.

After doing more research, I think the ACLU should be treated as hostile organization to the United States of America, as they do not represent citizens of this country nor their interests with regards to illegal aliens.

Other hostile organizations include :
Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC)
American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO)
National Immigration Law Center (NILC)
Center for Human Rights and Constitutional Law (CHRCL)
American Friends Service Committee (AFSC)
Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF)
Border Human Rights Working Group (BHRWG)

Also :
Binacional Migration Institute
Border Angels
Border Action Network
Border Network for Human Rights
Diocesan Migrant and Refugee Services
Coalicion de Derechos Humanos
No More Deaths
South Texas Civil Rights Project
Texas RioGrande Legal Aid

Bring these cockroaches into the light and squash them.

They really need to change their name to the Alien Civil Liberties Union. There is nothing American about this group of whining, worthless idiots.
