A multidisciplinary approach needs to be taken if we are to solve the inmigration issue, first the fence needs to be built, not perfect but a big
impediment for most people, I would freeze legal inmigration for five years, since we already have a surplus in professionals, identify current undocumented and provide a path to citizenship, it is unrealistic to beleive we can deport million and millions of people, finaly establish a guest
worker program, also what's so bad about a national identification card?

Hey, at least you’re thinking and trying to provide solutions. Here is how I think it should begin, first, I do believe the employer sanction laws are the best route to take in the 1st step of a multi-step process that is beginning at the state level. Funny thing about walls, people have a way of getting around them. Get rid of the incenctive, the biggest incentive is employment. The billions sent out of the country to the illegals home country is proof that employment is the biggest incentive, in my opinion. Then worry about a Berlinesque wall then.

Talking Logic

Everyone has this idea that we send them back. Did we bring them here? No. They can go back the way they come. Nobody buys our gas and transportation. They know how to get here, they know how to get back. It is that simple.

So you want to repeat the same mistake we made in 1986? Reward the criminals and leave gaping holes in the border for the next 20.000.000 illegals to climb through.
Your solution makes no sense because it's no solution. No where do you say anything about fixing the main cause.
You just want to skip the real solution and reward the illegals.

Fix the main cause by putting up the border and make sure that illegal entry can no longer be made.

And what about the national ID card comment??? I don't want to allow a bunch of illegal immigrants cause more government intrusion and infringement on my liberty by forcing me to carry a national ID card.
Take away the incentive to be here, and they will deport themselves.

Default Fairy Tale Views...

Roughly half the illegals here now work off the books. You actually crack down on employers and you end up with 75% off the books. How do we gain from this? The feds lose taxes...the illegals lose honest wages. Only those who run these arrangements make out.

Note that there are lots of legals off the books. The construction business is fulll of them. Both the first class wall builders in the local area here are almost always paid in cash.

So do you fix the illegal problem or worsen the "off the books" problem we already have?
