I've never quite understood the idea, frequently heard in these discussions, that "We're corrupt, so we shouldn't mind MORE, and WORSE, corruption from Mexico. WE have criminals HERE, so we shouldn't mind it when some illegals turn to violent crime, because (I guess) we should be 'used to it'. ...:

Wait until she's 12 years old, and gets grounded for a day. You and your wife will suddenly take on a new description...as the "meanest, cruelest, most abusive two parents in the WHOLE WORLD"......(sort of like the US is seen, by many on this forum...with about a 12-year old's view of reality)..

I dont know how strict this is in comparison with other states' laws regarding fining employers.
The bill would prohibit universities and junior colleges from admitting any immigrants residing unlawfully in the United States that were not born on or before August 28, 2008. In order to continue to receive state funding, schools will have to prove to the Education Appropriations Committees of both the House and the Senate that they have not admitted any such illegal residents.
That is eerie: I was being hypothetical about using July 1st, 2008 as the cutoff date for birthright citizenship for Anchor Babies with both parents here illegally.
Once the first domino falls..........others will follow.
I can't speak for you...but if I was HALF as upset with the country I lived in as this post seems to indicate, I think I'd have to leave! How can you possibly STAND it another minute?
By the way, I agree that we DO have many problems...I just don't think they're as bad as MOST places' problems are....and MOST places don't even TRY to take care of 'everyone', the way we try to do here. Many places, for example, have few problems with illegal immigration--they just 'shake them down, throw them in jail, and deport them---and PRESTO !....no problem. Many places have no problem with religious minorities, because they don't ALLOW religious minorities to practice their beliefs...therefore, no problem !!....Many places don't have silly 'arguments' between racial groups---they have actual violence. You can't 'insult' each other, if you're not on speaking terms. You're right....we DO have a lot of problems in this nation...in fact, from what I hear, it's about the WORST nation on earth. I can't even IMAGINE why anybody would want to stay here, now that you mention it.
If we were any kind of a decent place, we'd have 75 million illegals here, But we only have about 20 million, because the REST of them aren't interested in coming here, because it's such a MISERABLE place to be (as your post points out so well).
Like you, I'm not happy with our problems, either..particularly the way ALL OF US are so "iliterate" and racist, and the astounding degree of "cultural ignornce". The rest of the world is so tolerant, it DOES make us look pretty bad by comparison, it's true.

You are right, you can not speak for me, I may have more tolerance and hope for my beloved country, minds are changing in this country, but we
need many, many more, to make this country a cultural, and civilized one
