Huntsville/Madison pretty much dodged the bullet this afternoon and evening. Other areas weren't as fortunate.

So thankful we did....but Jacksonville State did not fair well at all. Our friend's son is a student but he is thankfully ok, has several friends who lost their homes. I went my freshman year to JSU and my mom is an alumnus so it is a special place for us and its been sad seeing all the pics of all the damage on and around campus.

I was just watching on the Weather Channel. Fortunately, the students were on spring break ... could have been much worse during a normal week. They said it was an EF3 tornado. Lots of damage on the campus. Yes, really sad.

Huntsville has been #2 metro for quite a while now, with only 2 counties passed Montgomery 4 county metro years ago.
Headline makes it sounds like it just happened.

Huntsville should be adding some other counties in the future.

I am amazed that Baldwin County isn't included in Mobile's MSA. It would easily bring Mobile to #2.

that has long been a discussion among Mobilian's. Guess you could ask a similar question why Morgan county is not part of Huntsville Metro. Huntsville and Decatur's city limits only separated by I-65. Huntsville now has annexed into Morgan County so what changes will that bring if any.

@AU HSV.... Yep since the population was 441,XXX. I wonder if the Baldwin Co. increases are a good bit of migration from the city or its legitimate new residents? There has been a lot of business development news coming out of the Mobile area lately.
