It's a beautiful, relatively warm Saturday afternoon, so my wife and I took a drive out to see how the Mazda/Toyota plant is progressing. You can't tell much from Old Hwy 20, but the new warehouse that's being built south of the new plant in huge. Using the pre-cast concrete walls makes a building like that go up in a hurry.

Looks good, and with warmer weather just around the corner, maybe 255 can be completed soon.

The planning commission approved just shy of 1,200 apartment units last night. There is huge growth coming to the city, particularly around Research Park Blvd/Old Monrovia. Huntsville is seen as a safe bet for some of these large out-of-state apartment builders.

Actually both names are correct. The road project is called "Research Park Boulevard (SR 255) between University Drive (U.S. 72) and Old Madison Pike".
