Every time I go to Tunica or other places in Mississippi, there are lots of Huntsville, and other Alabama, vehicles there.
Poarch Creek Indians would never allow any "real" casinos in Alabama. Them paying off politicians in Montgomery is probably the reason we don't have a lottery.

possibly. maybe along the river or 565/65, though... probably not downtown.
I noticed the cheapest monthly rent for Ascend is $625. When I graduated college in 1970, my tuition + dorm total for one semester was just over $900. Times and prices have change - a lot!

I was thinking maybe the ideal place would be in NW Madison County or NE Limestone, off 65 in the Ardmore area. Or, if Alabama continues to be stubborn, maybe Tennessee could approve casinos and build one at Ardmore.

Huntsville will never look like the city it is becoming without an attractive downtown. Skyscrapers not necessary but unique, beautiful, signature buildings are a must

Rocket’s first project is the development of a mixed-use community in a strategic location in the downtown core of Huntsville, Alabama.
It's been two years now since this announcement. There has been nothing new since then. It is apparent that this project is low in priority for them.

They certainly have some unusual looking buildings, but all the 3 highlighted ones on their website are in Brooklyn. Not sure exactly what an "EB-5 Project" is. EB-5 is the green card program, best I can tell.

You gotta wonder.

The Coca Cola site and the Constellation site are two prime areas of downtown that not much has been accomplished after lots of fanfare.

We do need some different architecture for sure. The typical box with stucco or brick is getting a little old. The only problem with that is what is unique and beautiful today is often trendy and looks time dated in 10 or 15 years. I would rather go for the signature design that has a classic, timeless style. The buildings being built right now that have about 6 different types of siding on them are a good example of trendy design. It is a fad that will date them quickly. There is one downtown now, maybe one of the newer apartment/condo type buildings but I can't remember off the top of my head. It looks like they used scrap materials to do the outside. I can't stand that trend.
