This, and medical is already a huge industry. Alternative and clean energy is going to become a huge industry in Houston. I would say biotech, construction, IT, and maybe tourism are probably also going to grow quite a bit in then next ten or so years.

Engineering is pretty much big everywhere; I'd say it's good in Houston.

go to a website like Monster.com (or some other job website) and find out. They have average salaries on there.

No, it's just that you have to take the initiative yourself sometimes instead of asking for everything. It's good to ask questions, but still, sometimes they can be answered by a quick Google search.
