Hi my family moved into Heritage park at the end of January from California and we couldn't be happier. My children attend Landolt elementary and I must say that the school is excellent. After a rough start for my kids...(California schools were way behind what was being taught here)they have caught up and are doing well. The teachers stay in contact with you and are very proactive in keeping the parents involved and making the children succeed. From what I have seen there is a huge parent presence, math and science programs are excellent. As for the neighborhood itself, everything you need is within 10-15 minutes shopping wise. The neighborhoods are older homes but very neighborly. My kids are out the door as soon as they are home and are playing outside until the sun goes down. Everyone looks out for one another and their children. Very friendly and very different from what I experienced in California where as soon as you got home you never saw anyone or even said hello. I would highly recommend it as a great neighborhood for families. From the prices of houses I have seen for sale they look like they average around 100,000 dollars. Not bad.

CCISD is an excellent district with outstanding leadership. Your choice of subdivisions will be determined by the price you pay for a house. We are in Brookwood, in the far north and east of the district and are surrounded by subdivisions representing most price ranges - what are you looking at?

Price wise we are looking at around 100 -120 if we decide to do some renovating ourselves or probably tops 150-160 if not. I have stayed home with our children and my husband is retiring from coaching after 26 years to just teaching. Our 2 youngest are in elem. coming from a smaller town we are used to about a 7,000 sq Ft backyard and so are looking mostly older homes in the neighborhoods. Just wasn't sure if there were sections we should completely stay away from.

Thanks
