Moving out this way and need to know the pros and cons of these school districts. Does anyone have children in these districts and can share your experience? Anyone have children in the GT elementary programs?

Thanks

Both are considered to be excellent school districts. You can't go wrong in either.

When I was house hunting, I had some Realtors telling me that Friendswood ISD was definitely better and other Realtors telling me that Clear Creek ISD was definitely better. It was maddening.

I hear alot of people want to live in CCISD, but I also hear great things about Friendswood ISD. So I am sure both of them are very well appointed school districts. I however am buying a house in CCISD.

I have 6 kids and have nothing but good things to say about FISD.TWo have gone to UT Austin and another to North western. The last one just started at Harvard. The other two love the school system.Friendswood is rated Exemplary all the way from the bottom to the top.Its 80% white so if that bothers you you might want to look elsewhere. Both districts are good and they are as good as you can get on this side of town.

The TEA rankings are given out to each school individually and then a ranking is given for the ISD as a whole. Here are some 2008 rankings:

District Rankings:
Friendswood ISD: Recognized
Clear Creek ISD: Recognized

School Rankings:
Friendswood: 6 of 7 schools given exemplary, 1 not rated
Clear Creek ISD: 18 exemplary, 14 recognized, 6 acceptable, 2 not rated

So although they have equal rankings for the districts, Friendswood has better rankings for individual schools. Personally I don't think you can go wrong with either district... I prefer the diversity of Clear Creek, but that's me.

Friendswood is rated MUCH better. Schooldigger.com -- Search and compare elementary, middle, and high schools.
