It's just a nasty shopping center, like all the rest of them. Sounds like you'd benefit from home delivery, though..

Sharpstown area to me is a pretty safe area I drive over there all the time no problems I am not to worried. Now when I drive to my gfs just down the street from mcgregor park I get a little edgey. If you live in Bellaire Katy or Riveroaks I can see why you do not like Sharpstown, I can list like 5 to 7 areas will not drive through after dark but Sharpstown in not one of them

I think the real question is the following: Who gets hassled more? A white Sugar Land resident driving around Sharpstown in their brand new BMW or a black Sharpstown resident driving around Sugar Land in a late model car?

Just go during the day, buy your TV, don't dawdle, and leave. As long as you don't linger or wander off, you'll be fine.

However, I have to laugh at the comments saying Sharpstown isn't a bad area. I guess the police list all those murders just to scare off potential investors, huh?

Wow this thread is ludicrous, I lived in the north side(FM 1960/greenspoint area) before moving to Sugar Land, and you fit the stereotypical Sugar Land resident. It seems like most people that have lived in Sugar Land all their lives are afraid to go out of 'the bubble' but you're worried about Sharpstown during the day? Seriously? I mean if you pull up in a beamer you may get some odd looks, but other than that you'll be fine.

Do you know how much crimes out in Pearland? But yet I don't see anyone saying it's bad or horrible.

Sure, they do. When my husband and I were house hunting in Pearland, all our friends and colleagues who are native to Houston were adamant that we shouldn't buy a house there. Pearland is wildly unpopular with a lot of people who have lived here for 20+ years...they think it is a terrible place plagued with awful crime. I've noticed that newcomers to Houston have a much higher opinion of Pearland, though...
