Don't worry about the distance of Woodcreek Elementary...there is a new elementary school that should be finished by the time school starts back up that is right behind WLN off of I think Fry and Cinco Terrace by the new Kids R Kids daycare. Most likely, you should be rezoned there. I don't know the name of the school though if it even has one yet.

Yeah I did a little quick digging. It is right down Cinco Terrace past Fry Road and WLN is zoned there. Here are the new attendance boundaries. http://apps.katyisd.org/public/sse/files/EL32_Attendance_Boundaries.pdf (broken link)
