I can make that statement now, because he's showing his worth now. If in a few months something breaks, or needs to be repaired, then I will be cussing out the subcontractors who did it. Although everything we check, down to the plumbing and wiring, has been good. We didn't catch the leak before we did because we weren't able to go to the house over the weekend.

So far anytime we've had an issue, it's because the subcontractor didn't follow our supervisor's instructions. Like in the master tub, they drilled the holes for the faucet on the wrong side of the tub - even though our super had talked with him, AND written a huge note in red paint on the floor with an arrow on which side to drill the holes. Our super made him come back out and fix it and do it properly. In the end, if they would just listen and do it right the first time, they would save a lot of money and time!!

We have had great luck with getting good building supervisors. When we built our last house, our supervisor was good (not very personable, but knew what he was doing when it came to the house). And we never had one single problem with our last house.

This time we have been even MORE diligent about going every day, making notes and being extremely picking and petty about fixing little things (splatter on the cabinets for example). And he's fixed it all, with no issues.

HEY!!! Long time no talk! Our close date is the 23rd, but we are hoping to get that moved up to the end of next week. Keep your fingers crossed for us! We will be in by Christmas, even if it means sleeping on our air mattress - I know you know what that feels like!

Txgal - We closed the Friday before Christmas!! Yeah!

As for follow up with the builder, we have a meeting with our supervisor for the 2-week follow up regarding the house warranty tonight. We have been making a list of things that need to be fixed or aren't working properly and we will show him this evening (they are all minor things). We have another one of these home warranty meetings at 3 months, 6 months and a year after living in the home.

Thats great they come back at schedule times. We are screwed with our warranty that we were promised. Looking into purchasing one outside of the builders. Having issues with a smell coming from the drains in the kitchen. Gets worse when it rains or is cold. Plumber is clueless. Only issue we have really had that has NOT been resolved but again we are now left to our own devices. Good deal on home though...now AWWESOME deal on house so it may all even out in the end.
Glad you are in now!
