The rankings for HS's have always been:

1 Clear Lake
2 Clear Brook
3 Clear Creek
4 Clear View

Clear Lake makes it to the top 10 in the whole Houston metro sometimes.

The next 2 are usually Tier II schools, with Clear Brook at the top of Tier II, Clear Creek at the bottom of Tier II.

Clear View is the area's ''alternative school.''

When you think of the demographics of the area (i.e. you've ever spent any considerable amount of time in League City), it makes perfect sense.

Isn't there a new high school that just opened...Clear Springs? I think it pulled from Clear Brook and Clear Creek, but I could be remembering wrong.

Default Seeking clarity

Is there some sort of law there that all the high schools have to have "Clear" in their name?

The kids refer to them as Lake, Creek, Brook, etc. THey usually leave the Clear off.

Wow, I just read that Clear Lake High School has 3543 students. That's like a small college. Some reviews on GreatSchools.net mentioned that a student can have a 4.3 GPA and still not be in the top 10%.

My high school in Fort Bend was about that large in the mid 90s. We had to share half lockers. With more people moving here, I'm sure it's pretty commonplace all over town.

Back in the day, a 10.0 GPA was the best you could do, all 100's in all honors. All 100s in all advanced was 9.0, Academic (average), 8.0. Then you divide GPA by 2. Not sure how it is anymore.

Down here, the exclusive neighborhoods are all zoned to Lake. Us peasants in the $200k neighborhoods are zoned to Brook. No doubt lots of Asian students & future astronauts, doctors, etc @ Lake wrecking the curve. Much like Clements HS in Fort Bend.

Yep, Clear Springs just opened last year... so there are now four regular HS in Clear Creek ISD.
