I don't really like the food at Empire all that much. It's really one of those places where the atmosphere is greater than the food. It's one of those places where you would go for coffee, soup or CAKE!

Anyway, I want to try something new around here, so I might be going for a visit at Indika or Dolce Vita.

Incredible dining is part of the Houston Perk Package.

Incredible guts, and sometimes searing pain & percolation comes with it as a free bonus.

Oh, I love both of those places. Good choices.

I think brunch at Empire is very reliable. They also have awesome salads if you go for lunch or dinner.

I like Brasil. I have not yet been to Empire... I might check it out soon.

Check out b4-u-eat.com or Houston Press for a great selection of restaurants grouped by style, price, or location. Both are wonderful resources for us.

If you like Latin food (not TexMex), I want to throw out Seco's near the Rice Village (in the old Cafe Europa space). I have been there probably a dozen times since they opened, and have never been disappointed. Inexpensive, nice menu, and wonderful sangria.
