Okay...

School districts:
*Cinco Ranch is in the Katy Independent School District.
*Copperfield and Fairfield in the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District.
*Fall Creek and Eagle Springs are in the Humble Independent School District.
*The Brazoria County section of Shadow Creek Ranch is in Alvin ISD.
*Sienna Plantation, Riverstone, and the Fort Bend County portion of Shadow Creek Ranch are in Fort Bend ISD.

School assignments:
*School assignments in Katy ISD are by subdivision or apartment complex: Check: http://www.katyisd.org/AZ/index.asp (broken link)
*School assignments in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD are by street address: Check: http://transfinderi.com/address.asp?cid=CFI02966337550
*School assignments in Humble ISD are by subdivision or apartment complex: Check: http://www.humble.k12.tx.us/attendance.htm (broken link)
*School assignments in Fort Bend ISD are by subdivision or apartment complex: Check: http://zonemaps.fortbend.k12.tx.us/edulog/webquery/WebQuery.jsp (broken link)

I cannot get Alvin ISD's bus stop locator tool to work for addresses within the district, so I would call the district about school zoning.

Keep in mind that school attendance boundaries in many quickly-growing suburban areas will change, so check with the district to see if it has plans to rezone the desired areas to new campuses

Default Conroe ISD/Spring, TX

Take a look at Spring, TX in Montgomery County within the Conroe Independent School District (http://www.conroeisd.net/) (broken link). This is one of the top-rated school districts in the Houston area. This part of Spring is north of Houston, and practically part of The Woodlands (http://www.thewoodlands.com) (broken link). We currently live in The Woodlands but are building a house in Spring (2,000+ SF on a lake in a private gated community right at $200k- http://www.canyongate.com/communities/legendsranch/ ). One of my boys went to The Woodlands H.S. (in The Woodlands) and the other to Oak Ridge H.S. (in Spring). I preferred Oak Ridge for my children (more diversity in races/income/social standings = more like the real world).Good luck in your search!

Question Snake in woodland?

I read in another thread that there are snake /alligators in the woodland and katy area because on the lakes? And in my time there I know these are important due to flooding problems.:confused
I know I am from S. Florida but I don't live near canals where they are. How common is it for snakes bites I do have small kids and this thought scares me!

I've never heard of alligators in/near The Woodlands. I've never seen a snake here but many others have, and I haven't heard of any problems with people being bitten although I'm sure it does happen. I've never worried about my kids being bitten and I have never heard other parents worrying about this. I really don't think this should be a major concern to moving here. Just teach the kids to stay away from them IF they do see them. There are lakes in The Woodlands and as far as I know they have fish, frogs, and turtles livinging in them (no alligators). There are other wild animals that you will see around such as deer, raccoons, squirrels, hawks, opposums, armadillos, turtles. Since Woodlands is a master planned community they have taken into account possible flooding problems and therefore it doesn't happen except in very extreme circumstances and this is only in a very limited number of areas.
