I mean where is the brochure stand? dunno if is a new concept here, everywhere you go in the NE you will find the wall of brochures from goof attractions to millionaire hobbies. my wife never plan and just target a location, drive miles and miles then check the brochures by any service station. voila, instant getaway. great for any youngster to express their interests too

There's a visitors' center at City Hall downtown. It's hidden, too! You'd miss it if you didn't know it was there.

I think kids would enjoy the bat colony under the Waugh bridge. There are lots of people around there around evening time. They'd probably enjoy the waterwall next to the Nordstrom of the Galleria but last time I checked it was undergoing some kind of construction (this was about 3 months ago).

I live in Kingwood. It's pretty nice. They have a really nice walking trail in the back now (East End Park I think it's called?) - it's about 3 miles for the whole loop and some of it is along Lake Houston. They are also going to build that Dinosaur park thing (sorry - not sure of the "official" name) just a little north of Kingwood in the New Caney area and it's really supposed to be huge. Other then your typical "suburb" type of activities (movies, bowling, shopping) - you really do need to head downtown for the museums, theaters, zoos, and things. In the summer at Miller Outdoor, they usually put on a free play and they have been absolutely fantastic! We try to go every summer. There's lots to do, it's just a little disconnected unfortunately.

Come on, be my little superhero sidekick, Wiz. You'll have to deal with lesser billing on the comic book cover/movie poster but at least you'll have something to do.

Now, off to City Hall to get you some brochures...I'll hold the panhandlers at bay...up, up, up and awaaaay!

Default Thank you!

You all have been so helpful. I have gotten some of the things done and will work on some more before I leave.
We think we will be very happy here in Texas.
It is nice to know that if I get bored I won't be alone if I decide to dress as a superhero and go out to fight crime!
