I'm a working professional (O&G) and have been looking for volunteer opportunities but have come up empty. Ideally here are the types of things I'd like to focus on (no particular order):

1.) Helping small businesses with business-related needs (e.g. Excel/spreadsheet help, business planning, business development)

2.) Mentoring high school students looking to improve their grades, help with college admissions, etc

3.) Helping Veterans or anyone that needs assistance with resume building, interviewing skills, etc

4.) Helping with US Citizenship interview prep

I prefer weekend opportunities but can do weekday as well so long as its after working hours (after 5 or 6 PM).

Most of what I've found requires early morning, full-time hours during the day, or is essentially full time commitment (8-5/9-5).

Lastly anything in Sugar Land (or near) or close to the Beltway in Houston is preferential.

Any suggestions or recommendations? Thanks in advanced!

Have you tried here:

https://www.volunteermatch.org/searc...D%2C+TX%2C+USA

Some of these say they are flexible and can work with you on scheduling.

Also, contact the Sugar Land Volunteer office here:

Junior Achievement is a great organization. Last two time I did it, I taught a personal finance course to high school kids. I know they also have middle school kids where they do career development type stuff.

They do schools in all areas, so you can either pick one near work or near your house.
