It's funny how priorities and budget deficits go out of the window when a city gets the Super Bowl.
Who cares about deficits.... put everything on the credit card and we'll pay for it someday

Want a good example of how priorities go out of the window?
Has anybody proposed fixing the S....TY Reliant parking lot exits?
How about an exit that will put you on the highway without having to go through street lights?
Am I the only one that has had to sit down in his car for 1 hour looking at cars trying to leave Reliant stadium?

But again, who cares about priorities and deficits. it's party time.

To hell with all that. These events just make the city better. They have lasting positive effects.

Heck, if anything they don't spend enough.
London was already awesome, but they got so many addition kickbacks from the Olympics.

The last SB in Houston gave us projects that was already in the works sped up.

The more Houston hosts these Championship games/ Final fours/Exhibition matches etc, the better our entertainment industry becomes, the better our infrastructure becomes, the bettter our service industry becomes.

The super bowl wasn't coming back here without that hotel. it was one of the showcases.

just thank Miami's residents for telling them no more taxes for the stadium

The crazy part these politicians can do what they want when they get together....at first, the dome was here to stay and when wind of a super bowl bid was coming mysteriously commissioner's court opens up options and these token "dome groups" are formed to look into it.

the rail could be done faster if they really wanted. the problem is we let the rodeo buy the astroworld lot too early and I wonder if there are plans to fix it up or have it serve as a parking lot only and a ticket storage booth

So much more could be done with that Reliant Complex. That thing needs a couple hundred dollar upgrade that does not involve tearing down the dome.

First they need parking garages on the astrodome site, not more open lots.
