Nice job, Texas. Now how about letting some of that trickle down to the counties, so I can get a break on my property taxes? I know, I know...when pigs fly. LOL.

Put your CA pomp pomps down and think about it.

CA is full of welfare hoarders who don't pay for sevices. The broke govt in CA loves to take our tax dollars and give it to the hoaders including themselves.

Exactly, what did they cut some 5 billion dollars? And they can't even return that to normal funding levels.

.
And you think throwing money at them will solve the issue?

So far that has not worked anywhere in the US.

More money will not fix our broken K-12 system.

way to go! having two of the largest oil reserves being tapped in the country have like 95% to do with this. not saying it should discount that number, but us purposefully doing stuff right to get to this point is not at all how it happened

Much better than what I have seen here in CA over the past three years.

Better to have a surplus than to be in this situation.

My point was, what is the difference between a state that has money and won't spend it compared to a state that doesn't have money and can't spend it? Either way, the residents will suffer.

The thing with Texas is, we always brag about how much money we have, but yet we always hear of how our education sucks and how our infrastructure sucks because we won't make investments in them, but Baby Jesus, how we can throw every bit of corporate welfare towards companies that would still have insane profits without such incentives! What is the point??

I mean, come on, when we have to entice companies to come and stay here with every bit of incentive under the sun, what does that REALLY say about us?
