We are looking to rent a home and will be visiting Houston soon. Is it better to choose one realtor for showings and choosing a lease property or should you go with 2 or 3 - I just learnt that one realtor can show pretty much any MLS listing. Or would you recommend contacting the realtor that listed the property originally (that would make it a very large number of realtors and hard to coordinate).

thanks!

I think you answered your own question.

But there's little to no advantage to calling the agent directly. The only time it helps is when the agent is very bad at responding to other agents, then it's probably better to deal directly with the listing agent. But even then, those agents are a pain to work with and want things at their convenience, not yours.

Yeah I would pick one realtor and let them do the work, that's what you're paying them for. And don't go with one of those "I sell Houston!" realtors. Work with someone who is based in your preferred area. I've had several friends who use realtors from central parts of town and they were completely unhelpful and didn't want to make the drive to the area they were "selling" in. If you're going Katy, pick someone in Katy, same with any other part of town. This is a big city and every submarket has its own issues.
