[quote=Dopo;22620085]Can somebody please find out how much of our Texas taxes that could have been used to fix our schools were wasted on Rick Perry's venture?
Did this guy do any work in the last 6-8 months? Did he get paid as a governor?

Thats a good question...I have read
400,000 per month on travel and security plus add in his lease for his mansion...10,000 per month... anything else?

by the time Rick leaves office Texans will have spent 1,680,000 on his rented mansion! He should donate that much to the Historical Society to repair the original Governors mansion.

That money didn't come from taxes, it came from lottery revenues!

So everyone leaving the drive thru with a Big Mac can say thank you to daddy Huntsman for making the nice and handle container for it over strong, burger tissue paper.

Then again, Huntsman is like more Mormon than Romney. His family background is like DEEP in the LDS church. Like LSD royalty. His couple greats grandpa was literally up there with Joesph Smith. Now that's Mormon supreme. Romney is just a member but no one cared that Huntsman was Mormon because he was toast before he even filed the paperwork.
Romney is not *just a member.* There is a new book out about him.

'Fresh Air' Interview: 'The Real Romney' By Michael Kranish And Scott Helman : NPR

Quote:
When Romney returned to the United States, he transferred to Brigham Young University in Utah. After finishing his bachelor's degree, he moved to Boston to attend Harvard University's law and business schools. He also became a leader in the Mormon lay clergy in Massachusetts, and eventually became the leader of more than a dozen congregations in eastern Massachusetts. During his tenure, he successfully negotiated changes in church policy on behalf of women in his congregation who felt their voices were not being heard.

"Some of the more liberal members of the church told me that they were impressed that Romney was willing to accept many of [their demands]," says Helman. "Certainly there were things he could not change. Salt Lake City was not going to permit women entering the priesthood, for example, but he made a lot of significant changes, and that impressed a lot of people. If you ask them today, these people who are happy about these changes will recall him as a flexible, dynamic leader."

What's the point of having a socialist gambling business (government run lottery) if the profits only benefit the governor?
