If your not carrying then you should have no worries about the boys in blue. I doubt they would mess with you even if you accidentally drove through a rough part of Houston. If your visiting Friendswood you should not worry too much about it. If you plan of seeing more of Houston just keep on the main streets and you will have no problems. Drugs are done everywhere in big cities. Upscale to low scale...so you can't just judge it by the look of the neighborhood or the people doing them. If it looks like a run down thug infested shady looking neighborhood then you will spot that look easily. If you start getting the what are you doing in my hood look then get out there. Doubt you will have any problems visiting your relatives in Friendswood.

You don't know my cousins. One is a student at Rice University. But, they ALL wanna be thugs. Pants down low, listening to hip hop... they might take me anywhere. And, I'm so blind I just might follow 'em. I wish I knew what area's to avoid. That would make it easier for me. I might even call and tell my Uncle, before they try something. I hear the Wards can be dangerous, but that's all I know.

I have never really heard it called that but there are drugs anywhere there are people. Stoners are everywhere though so don't be surprised if you meet some. Just know the cops are not too friendly about it.

Because Houston is a city often associated with drug culture, specifically Codeine, Cocaine, & Marijuana.

I always took it to be a gang thing. The Tango Blast "Houstone" gang is probably the most influential Mexican gang in the city. You can usually spot them wearing the Houston Astros star on a ball cap or T-shirt, sometimes with the letter H in the middle. "Houstoned" may well be a derivative of the gang's name, highlighting its drug trafficking activity.

Uhh...the whole Hip Hop culture phenomenon of abusing of Promethazine cough syrup (Drank, Texas Tea, Purple Oil, etc.) started in Houston my friend, way back in the early 90's.

Houston was/is also a MAJOR hub for the trafficking Cocaine in the United States from Mexico. The amounts that comes through the Port of Houston & make their way to cities up North like Chicago would make your head spin.

MrSykes is also correct, it comes from the Mexican Gang Houstone who brings in these drugs.

I just spoke to my cousin Genie Boy, who informed me that there's no such thing as a "Houstone" gang. He tells me that they were all ran out of the city, years ago. So, is this gang inside the city, or in the rural areas? He also, promised me that there are drugs in the far southwest (Larano or something)... that's it. But his girl friend keeps laughing in the background. I don't know what's the deal. She lives in town near the University. Should I be worried about that area?

Which university...Rice or UH?

The areas around UH are very ghetto.

Rice is nice.
