Hello Everyone,

Today I noted that one of the doors of the inside of the house do not close properly. This room is located on the second floor. I checked all the other doors of the house and they seem to be working and closing correctly but this one hits the frame at the top as shown in the picture below:

I also noticed a small crack on the side of the door as you can see in the picture above. The attic is above that room which has the AC unit. Maybe that has something to do with it.

Or maybe the HOuston HEAT has something to do with it.

have you been watering your slab (if you don't water your lawn to provide sufficient moisture to ground and slab)?

Well if you water your lawn sufficiently (which with this drought you may not be able to) then your slab gets enough moisture but they make hoses that you lay on the ground right next to your house. The hose has little holes in it and it puts out water in the dirt right against the house - it is supposed to keep that area moist so that there is moisture and the ground doesn't give and slabs start cracking. You can probably google slab water hoses to get a better idea of the purpose and what exactly they do for your home.

I went around the house and check for cracks and could not find any (outside). One of the side of my house is covered with small stones (decoration). Two sides are grass and plants and one side (backyard) is a stone porch.

So do I have to water the outside walls of the house. All the four walls.

It most likely is not. It has been so incredibly dry your house is most likely just settling a little bit differently than it normall does.

It is recommended by many ..... I know lots of people who have the slab hoses around their homes and if they aren't watering their lawns they are turning on those slab hoses.

Usually a crack parallel to the floor and ceiling does not indicate a foundation problem. It is the approximately 45 degree cracks that are an indication of possible foundation problems. In brick mortar they show up as "stairstep" cracks
