Which is worse. I have been to Atlanta from April through August, and found the humidity unbearable. Is the humidity in Houston about the same or worse. Have those of you who have moved from the West Coast to Houston became use to the humidity, or is it something you never get accustomed to, but just have to endure it.

I came from CA and got used to tolerating it. If you found Atlanta unbearable you should consider not moving here, the humidity is worse and it stays hotter here longer than Atlanta.

Thanks rb4browns for the reply. I was ill almost the entire time I was in Atlanta, and that was just visiting for the Summer. Even indoor AC didn't help. Humid weather is just not for me. Other than the weather, Houston seems like a nice place to live. Thanks again for responding.

Joy

MobileDave, it is interesting to find out that someone who has lived in the area doesn't really get used to the humidity either. I may still visit Houston, but moving there is probably not going to work for me.

I'd imagine Houston is a lot worse being a coastal area, low altitude and pretty far south.

Houston's humidity is worse, but not incredibly so, in my opinion. The most noticeable difference is that summers in Texas are about a month and a half longer. Heat wise, the worst offenders are Dallas and San Antonio, to me.

But if you found Atlanta intolerable, you'll hate Houston.

We've had an unusually dry summer this year. Drought conditions and all. But yes, it's usually very humid here. Some days its like a sauna, really.

Houston humidity is far worse than Atlanta - - more like Savannah.

Yeah but we make up for the summer by having awesome weather during the other 8 months.

Atlanta and Austin are about identical for % humidity throughout the entire year.

Houston heat and humidity are both higher than Atlanta.
