Hi, I'll be looking to join a golf club when I move to Houston in October. Not really interested in the Country Club type, just the golf.

When you say 'golf club', are you referring interested in a group that plays regularly at one or more courses? Or are you referring to golf leagues? I came from the Midwest where the golf season is only 6 months and 9-hole golf leagues after work are common. So far I haven't seen those here in Houston. All golf courses here offer some kind of membership and you can join either a men's or women's golf association where they hold regular tournaments. I suggest to find a golf course that you like (preferably near your residence) and ask if you can join groups that play regularly. You may have to call the courses and ask around.

I mean to become a member of a Golf club. i.e pay a yearly subscription in order to play unlimited golf on the one dedicated course.

Meadowbrook Farms is a very nice course. Expensive though.
Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club > Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club
Pine Crest is a nice layout with decent prices. It's about 15-20 miles east of Katy.

A nice thing about Houston is there are a ton of golf courses. So its quite reasonable to play...hard part is finding time to do it.
