This last August was certainly the hottest on record. Never has it ever been so consistently hot and disgusting in Houston. To me, I think the high amount of humidity this summer made it almost unbearable. When was it that we had that really dry summer? Last year? That was easier to stand.

I left about 5 years ago so that was probably what I remember.

This summer seemed much milder to me

I spent last year in SA. It got to 100 in late june, early july and did not relent till like september. was over 100 for 69 days. I think that is prolly why I think it is so mild in Houston.

If it went over 100 this year I did not experience it

The actual highest temperature recorded in Houston was 108 in 2000. We got to 100 degrees at least once this year. This last 13 years is the longest stretch of summers where we had at least on 100 degree day. It sure looks like 1998 and 2000 were hotter, but apparently only in their high temperatures. There lows were lower, so the average temp was lower.

Houston Maximum Temperatures 100 degree or greater days

I'll miss the heat. Actually I prefer summer months over cold.

well if that is record heat, then I am glad to be back in Houston then. this summer was nothing compared to the last 4 years I had in San Antonio

Yah, San Antonio is definitely worse than Houston in terms of temperature. Our humidity is worse though.

I'm looking forward to snowless winters. Heat, humidity, rain and sub-freezing weather doesn't bother me. 48 inches average snowfall and road salt I got sick of.

so just like Dallas, San Antonio weather is on average slightly higher while their afternoon humidity is slightly lower.

I dunno, I was melting in SA. My bf is from over their, and he just moved to Houston, he said he was expecting Houston to be really hot from the way people in SA talk about it, but he really likes the weather here.

other places in Texas exaggerate our heat making it sound like it is much worse than other places, it is not any worse than SA or Dallas
