Last time I went to visit relatives in Houston, we went out to buy a horse for their farm.
While at the horse ranch, I noticed the owner had about 9 dogs in varying size. I thought "how can she afford to take care of all of these animals?"
Turns out only 3 of the dogs were originally hers. The rest were either abandoned on her ranch by people who came there to buy horses or wandered on her property and made it their home. But you know what? She makes an effort to feed and care for each and every one of those dogs. I applaud her good heart and nature.
It's just a shame that some people will just leave their pets to fend for themselves and won't always have a caring person like that ranch owner to willing to help.
