Hi everyone.

Looking for some ideas for overhead garage storage.
Something like this:

Nothing fancy, just something to store big boxes that are light in weight.

Anything I should take into consideration before I begin?

Thoughts?

I wouldn't want to put anything up there that I would need any more frequently than once a month. Looks like you'd have to pull the car out, get a ladder, and possible take other stuff down to reach something in the back.

Yeah I agree.

I'm thinking more like a Christmas tree/decorations, suitcases, and maybe cooler.

You would definitely want to keep it light with the rafter span in the garage. I have heard of some overhead storage things with pulleys. I have the same bind.

Nice and neat, but how do you identify what's in them? I'd rather have clear containers.
The shelving is cool & sturdy, while it looks not so bulky. Just remember to hang them where there are studs.

If your garage is fully drywalled, find out how the construction is before hanging anything off of it. The structure is quite sparse in my garage, with the portion constructed with beams at 4' O.C. and unsuitable any storage provisions, whether placed on top or hung below. It's one thing to have a few boxes come crashing down ... it's a whole other thing when it's your roof that's crashing down with it!!
