I'd put a screen on it, but it's probably not worth worrying about water infiltration; the vent pipe is going to get water in it anyway. It's supposed to drain back to the condensate pump. (the one on the left is the combustion air intake; water in there would be bad)

Cool i will get a screen from homedepot tomorrow and put it on both pipes. As for the leaks, should I just put PVC glue on it? Do you guys think silicone would work as well?

Ok guys what kind of screen should I get? I checked some of the mesh screens online but they look too narrow, I'm afraid it will freeze during winter and block the intake completely...

Contacted builder and he contacted the HVAC contractor right away

Update... HVAC contractor came. Pipe was cut and replaced. He said silicone would fail again and that the only way to fix this correctly was to cut and replace.

My last two homes have been new builds. I love calling the builder to get things handled and at no charge.....LOL
