Bleach can only kill what is on the outside surface (it is a surfuctant) and cannot penetrate anything. It runs off. Sporcidin is what hospitals use to disinfect porous things. Google it. If you cannot afford this product, try the Borax mentioned above. Also, Sporcidin smells like antiseptic mouthwash (the Listerine brand or the medicine-smelling kind at the Dollartree or Dollar General...so it may be the same active ingredient).
