The Sabres are the biggest penny pinchers in the league with one of the lowest team salaries if not the lowest...just look at the star players they have lost in recent years only because they didn't want to pay them a competitive salary.........they weren't even smart enough to try to trade Drury or Briere or sign and then trade them......they literally let them walk away and got nothing in return.......if there was a franchise in Hamilton it would have a huge fan base to draw from and more than adequate revenue income to ice a very competitive team using their whole salary cap.........due to its proximity to Buffalo it would draw fans away from Buffalos already small fan base........couple that with Buffalos unwillingness to spend money and you have a disaster in the making.

I heard that 20% of the season tickets that the Sabres have, come from folks in between Fort Erie and Hamilton. It's such a concern that both of the NY Senators wrote Bettman and begged him to not let this go through.

Theres no use whining about the GM......if they didn't approve of his ability to GM the team then he would have been fired......hes just a link in a chain of penny pinching and mismanagement.

Biron just signed with the Islanders for a one year 1.4 mill deal.......if you follow hockeybuzz.com the Buffalo writers are angry that Buffalo didn't sign Biron as a backup to Miller......just another example of Buffalo missing the bus again with a move that would have helped their club.

Not true.
What Bettman does is extort money from taxpayers.
He sets up scenarios where teams are in dire straits and and threatening to move out.
The end results is guaranteed money from the cities those teams are located in.

They can't sign Biron because they're stuck with Lalime for another year and don't have cap space for a 3rd goalie.
They had zero reason to give LaLime a 2 year deal and no reason to pay Miller $6.25M a season.

Wrong.
The Sabres are right up against the cap.
In fact right no they'll have trouble squeezing Stafford's salary in.

As far as fan base, Buffalo has one of the highest tv ratings for hockey in the league.
In fact there are times when they have a higher tv playoff rating then toronto percentage wise when both buffalo and toronto are out.

The hsbc is sellout or near sellout all season.

The front office team of regier and quinn needs to go, I agree with that 100%, but the rest of your post is pure fiction.
