Well, the Penguins went bankrupt TWICE yet they just won a Stanley Cup. Not sure if you can just up and get rid of those teams.

The Penguins won the cup because they stunk for a number of years allowing them to #1 draft picks like Crosby not because they went bankrupt twice.....hiring a sharp GM like Shero also helped immmensely !!!

Keep the Kings and eliminate the Sharks? LOL

I'm all for getting rid of/relocating teams like Nashville, Tampa and Phoenix but Dallas and San Jose have flourished.

And it'd be silly to get rid of the Islanders.

Um...the only thing they need to do is put the games on a channel like NBC's Universal Sports Network* (5.3 in Chicagoland), USA network, or regular NBC.

*Universal Sports Network should be increased to all markets.

They should also move Phoenix back to Winnipeg, Nashville to Kansas City, and one of the Florida teams to Hamilton, and the Islanders to Quebec City.

Eastern Conference
-Northeast
Quebec City; Montreal; Boston; Toronto; Buffalo
-Mid Atlantic
Buffalo; NY Rangers; New Jersey; Philly; Pittsburgh
-South
Washington; Carolina; the remaining Florida team; Atlanta; Dallas

Western Conference
-Central
Chicago; Detroit; Hamilton; St. Louis; Columbus
-North
KC; Minnesota; Winnipeg; Edmonton; Calgary
-West
Colorado; LA; Anaheim; San Jose; Vancouver

Scheduling
Division= 4 games
Non-division conf.= 3 games
Other conf.= A-[9 teams, 2 games]/ B-[6 teams,3 games]

A nit pick... you forgot Ottawa and have Buffalo twice. Maybe replace Buffalo in the Northeast with Ottawa?

I like your Mid-Atlantic and Western divisions...

Do you really think Hamilton could support a team with Toronto, Buffalo, and even Ottawa not that far away?

there will be no more teams in the east being added. If anything the NHL aka Gary Buttman will try to move a team out west. I do think we have too many teams in the east, but that'll never change, and Kansas City won't get a team. If the rookie Tavares doesn't save the Islanders they are going to be packing and finding a new home.
