Not all time, that may be MN if you do that, however, currently. I tried to google it and could not come up with an idea.
Someone said that it was MI, however, he got his info off a local Red Wings TV game, so maybe not the most unbiased source.
Who has the info? Thanks.

B.C.
Or rather the WHL.
For the US probably Massachussets and Minnesota.

I think Michigan may be one of the top producers of hockey players, if not first. Almost every game the Red Wings play, Mickey Redmond and Ken Daniels do a great job of acknowledging the players from the opposing team with Michigan connections; some are Michigan natives, some are alumni of U-M, MSU, or MTU. Sometimes they have family in attendance, like Mike Modano; sometimes they even have pictures of youth hockey leagues or footage of college games.

Illinois is big in hockey, never knew that, interesting

I would say michigan or massachusetts, since they have the most people out of the big hockey states

When I say, from, example, MI, I'm not talking about players that played their college hockey there. I'm talking about players that learned the game and grew up in the state. If you go by college, then while someone like Turco played at U of M, he cannot play for Team USA (he's from SSM, Ont.)

I am not going by anything- college or birth place. Was I not clear that they distinguished between those that are Michigan natives and those with only a connection through college? I wasn't suggesting that all the players mentioned are natives, merely that they have a Michigan connection.

The Top 4 is ALWAYS Minnesota, Michigan, New York (thanks to the Upstate section of it no doubt), and Massachusetts.... The order annually between the four usually fluctuates however...
