You beat me to it, I cant wait for the season to start. I agree with you on football, Im sick and damn tired of all the Brett Favre coverage being given to us. Every year at this time some NFL star is in the limelight and the coverage goes way overboard.
There's nothing like NHL season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Indeed, can't wait for the season now. So many teams are looking so good this year, it's shaping up to be a cracker. I'm off to New York in October too and am going to try and get tickets to the Islanders-Rangers game on the 27th. It'll be my second trip to the Coliseum and hopefully I'll be able to see an Islanders win seeing as the last time I was there they got squished 3-0 by the Sabres. Roll on October time!

The Detroit Free Press gave DH a great big chuckle to start the day off right! The headline above the headline read: Lions' Renew Hope. We are also counting the days til life begins again! LOL

Fellow hockey fans, the 2005 Stanley Cup Champions, the Calgary Flames!!!!!!!
ok so my friend bought NHL '05 at a discount store last month, and to make up for the lost season 3 years ago, we set the game to season mode and let it play itself out. Calgary won the west, New Jersey won the east, unfortuanlty for Beowulf's Devils, my Hurricanes knocked them out in the first round in 5 games. Meanwhile Calgary swept last seed Phoenix, who made a furious run to the playoffs by winning 11 of their last 13, and knocking out Edmonton and Steve-o's Blackhawks for last place on the last day of the regular season. Other playoff teams were Anaheim, San Jose, Dallas, Detroit, Colorado, and Minnesota in the west, Atlanta, Rangers, Islanders, Montreal, Ottawa, and Tampa Bay.
Detroit beat Anaheim, Dallas beat Colorado, and SJ beat Minnesota in 7
NYR beat Ottawa, Tampa beat NYI, and Montreal beat Atlanta
second round Detroit beat San jose and Calgary beat Dallas
east NYR beat Carolina, Montreal beat Tampa
Calgary beat Detroit, Montreal survived blowing a 3-1 series lead and beat Tampa in the 3rd overtime in game 7.
Calgary beat Montreal in 6 games, Jarome Ignila scored game winner with 4 minutes to play to give Calgary a 3-2 win. Ignila won the Conn Symthe trophy.
Yeah i know it didnt happen in real life but i had some fun with it.

The Canes only beat the Devils in that video game b/c it's a video game.

How long did it take for that 2005 season to play itself out in the game?
