Allegedly both sides have scheduled a meeting for Friday. Here's hoping.

Hey look at the bright side, at least the AHL isn't locked out!

You have to wonder about the NHL. #4 in a field of four major North American sports, and yet they never miss a chance to screw themselves.

I've been on vacation for two weeks, listening to syndicated ESPN programming wherever I am while driving. No surprise that it never mentions anything about the lockout...even with two days of "meetings" done today.

NHL = so irrelevant in so many ways now during the lockout. How could early season games even compete with the intriguing MLB playoffs this year.

I wonder if Fox sports radio at least mentions it a few times weekly...

So according to several news outlets, it sounds like the owners have offered a 50/50 revenue split. If it gets accepted, the full 82 games will be saved and the season would start just a few days after Halloween.

Hoping this gets done.

For hockey's sake, I hope they work a deal out. I rarely hear the NHL get mention on sports TV or sports radio.

Yeah, it's rather interesting. I recall the last lockout getting a lot of press. The tentative plan would see a full schedule played. Despite what I had thought earlier, the season could go on with little or no consequences as the media has not been stoking the flames.

The offer was rejected.

This really sucks. I really really hope they come to an agreement before it's too late. I fear another lockout will ultimately doom the league.
