Well a scrappy but good start for the Caps over the Hurricanes (sorry Canes) 4-3 in OT. Mike Green gets the winner on the PP. Big test tomorrow night against the Lightning.
Saw the end of Habs/Jets today and though the score was not close, the fans were very appreciative that hockey has returned to Winnipeg.
I'm surprised they got a point Saturday night considering the god-awful showing Friday night. Today's game against NJ was just as bad. It is time for Maurice to go. There is no way this current team with Maurice running things is going finish any higher than 13th in the conference.
If you didn't see tonights Caps/Bolts game, you missed a great one. Caps dominated offensively yet Tampa kept getting fluke goals but Caps kept coming back to take the lead before Tampa came back to grab a 5-4 lead. Caps score again with 3 minutes left and held off 2 penalties in OT to get to the shootout where Matt Hendricks and Alex Semin scored while Tomas Vokoun shut down the Tampa shooters giving the Caps a 6-5 win.
Well after the Bruins get done beating up on my Hurricanes I will read on NHL.com tomorrow that there is a new coach behind the Hurricanes bench. Hopefully one that will actually light a fire under them too.
Caps stay perfect beating the Pens 3-2 in OT. Dennis Wideman scores off a nice pass from Nicklas Backstrom, the Caps also stopped the perfect record of PK's by the Pens.
Good start so far but I'll hold my breath until they get past the second round of the SC Playoffs.
Stars have scored four unanswered goals to take a 4-2 lead over Columbus at the American Airlines Center with time winding down in the final period, looking to improve their record to a Pacific Division-best 4-1.
