I think people will think the tattoo overload of today ala Rihanna looks stupid, as well as some of the hipster fashions like glasses without lenses . I also think people will view today as relatively backwards for things like the death penalty still existing and gay marriage being illegal in many states and the persistence of the "greed is good" mentality that started in the 1980s.

As far as today's music, I think stuff like Kesha and Justin Bieber will be laughed at but the more artsy stuff like Lorde and the Arctic Monkeys will be remembered fondly. If global warming gets really bad too, people will think we were idiots for not doing less, just like people today think people in the past (up to the 90s, really) were idiots for tolerating smoking so much.

I don't see the death penalty going away anytime soon. I do agree with what you said about gay marriage though. The greed is good mentality is stronger today than it ever was in the 80's. So I don't see that going away anytime soon either.

They're better than the baggy jeans of the previous two decades. Why can't people just wear stuff that fits?

By 2030 the middle class will be dust, non-Hispanic whites will have become a minority, though color will not matter anymore, only class. There will only be two traditional shopping choices, Walmart or Saks. And George W. Bush, in computer-generated hologram form will be President for eternity, ruling in the style of good old fair-minded President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe. The draft will be reinstated, so expect a couple of wars on small countries with some natural resources left. A fun time should be had by all that have plenty.

It's hard to say considering we're not even half way through the 2010s yet.

Fashion and music always is a joke when looking back 20 years. That's just the way we are.

Death penalty in 20 years, I don't see a major shift.

Making money will still be in vogue.

On gay marriage, this time could be looked at as a time of change. Laws are just beginning to change.

We will be a part of the technologically challenged age, as I expect it to be significantly different in 20 years.

the tattoo craze will definitely die out by the 2030's it's already dying out right now, with people regretting getting them and wanting them removed

I recently saw a lady at the grocery store with a large tattoo covering her entire back that looked kind of like wings and it almost looked like a large bruise, all over he back and shoulders, awful

and she was only in her mid 20's
