Hope you survived Sandy okay. Still worried about my little hometown in south Jersey....
Thanks for asking. We made it through without a scratch in my neck of the woods, never even lost power. The western counties of South Jersey; Burlington, Camden and Gloucester were largely unscathed with the exception of some lingering power outages in a couple of areas. Things have pretty much been "back to normal" for most folks around me since October 31st.
I got em all correct except # 9...turns out it is the Speaker of the House, not the First Lady who becomes president if the president and vice president die in office.....and # 10....we declared independence from Great Britain, not Germany.
I got a 27, Bush got me twice, one for Sr birth and one for Jr getting me thinking that the pres declares war, lol. Got lucky on the amendments questions, knew ERA was not ratified for women, when in doubt, go for the booze. Figured 1 was too little for non ratified amendments, but 12 was too many, so my sense of compromise won that one. Was pretty sure there were 26 or 27 of them, got lucky there. almost picked 1968 for last one ratified, but remembered Lisa Simpon's voice off "The Simpons" telling us about the American Disabilities Act of 1990 something......so I scored one for an animated television series polishing off my education for this test.
28, the number of proposed amendments and who the frack was born in Texas both critical issues that have been tantamount to the preservation of liberty!

This is how Gerald Ford ascended into the office of the president.. however neither the president nor the vice president Died, they simply resigned.
Ford was VP when Nixon resigned. Nixon dumped previous VP Agnew because of tax evasion and mafia-type activity.
yes, Ford was appointed VP after Agnew was forced to resign.. making Ford the only man to ascend to the POTUS from the Speaker Position but I guess, Nixon could have appointed anyone to VP after Agnew resigned???

Yes. Nixon could have appointed anyone to VP--provided he had congressional approval.
Ford was never Speaker. He was House Minority Leader when Nixon appointed him. And succession of the POTUS is quite simple--it's the VP. If no VP, then it's the Speaker.
