There is no vaccine shortage

This video is of the Council on Foreign Relations discussing strategy for getting people to take the H1N1 vaccine. Besides them calling people who don't want the vaccine "crazy people", there's nothing really new except that at 5:20 in the video they are discussing how to get people to take the unpopular vaccine and a woman says:

"I think what would work better would be to say that there is a shortage and people would tend to line up more for something that's in demand." (and then laughing).

I think that's exactly what they've done.

There is a vaccine shortage. i.e. all the people who want to get the vaccination can't. It may be a real supply issue or it may be government created, but for joe public there is a shortage nonetheless.

If artificial shortages worked for the nintendo wii, it will doubtlessly work for something supposedly designed to prevent death.

Some people don't need supplements and some do, that's a fact. Our soil is too depleted to provide all the nutrients that we need. Even with the best diet, supplementing is a good idea. Not with vitamins, but with green superfoods.

And of course, yes, even with a strong immune system, we can still suffer from influenza, but it's ridicilous to say that enhancing your immune system has nothing to do with getting the flu.

I'm sure you mean well, but your post is dangerous and misleading. Sure, those supplements you named might boost one's immune system, but ingesting them will in no way assure an immunity to ANY type of virus; too many other factors come into play when it comes to pathology.
You should have prefaced your hyperbole as a mere suggestion, it would have been far more accurate.
Your post falls under the classic adage that "A little information is a dangerous thing."
Anyone who doubts my preceeding statement, please feel free to ask your physician.
Peace.

Sorry but I have read that in articles that were recommended to me by a medical person at a recent hospital stay. I was sitting in my daughters hospital bed with my lap top, we started talking about the vaccine and he told me where to look. They said right out that because of time constraints some of the normal safeguards have been bypassed, like the long term testing required before a vaccine is available.

I am more then happy if someone else makes the CHOICE to go out and take this vaccine however the information is out there as a warning, if something horribly goes wrong, you have no one to blame but yourself.

I was told just the other day by an epidemologist that there is less vaccine then they had expected because the cultures are growing at half the speed they thought they would. If you want to split hairs and argue with the terminology, this is the official and technical version of what they are saying.

There is also alot LESS of the version of the vaccine that does NOT include Mercury, check out heavy metal toxicity on your favorite search engine. I was told by the epidemiologist that the H1N1 Vaccine would remain with us each year, they would probably have to alter it as the Swine Flu will probably change and require a slightly different vaccine. Just how often are you willing to take Mercury into your body??

Wouldn't hurt to add ascorbyl palmitate to the mix.
