Im not peeling yet, but I'm itching like CRAZY! This aloe I have is not helping much. Any ideas so I can get some rest?

Try an oatmeal bath....fill a mesh bag with it and let it steep in a lukewarm tub....they make bath products with oatmeal as well...........

Benadryl.
There's also an aloe vera gel that has a bit of numbing stuff in it. Of course, your fingers and everything you slather will be numb, too.
But don't stop using the aloe vera. It'll help diminish the peeling.

Guy - just wanted to send you some good thoughts, LOL!!! Also, exfoliating can help. Do you have one of those scrubby thingies for the shower? The mesh things? Using a nice gel like Neutrogena plus a scrubby in the shower can help remove the peeling skin and that helps w/ itching. So you might consider that as you will start peeling at some point.

Southlander is right -there are aloe vera gels w/ some stuff that numbs. That is what we use.

I also think the Benadryl is a good idea.

And buy good suntan lotion to use if you are out in the sun ANY AT ALL.

The itching sensation is your body's way of telling you that the skin is ready to come off. If it is too painful to use a scrubby, go to Wal Mart and buy a product called "pretty hands and feet." It goes on like a smooth lotion, but after rubbing it around for a few minutes it exfoliates the skin without any rough additives.
Women over 40, also should try it about 3-4 times a year to take all the dead skin gently off their faces.
