Cold sore - what it is? (infection, nose, virus, cure)

Can somebody explain to me, what means - cold sore.

A vesicular eruption on the face, usually on or near the mouth, often accompanying a cold or a febrile condition; herpes simplex.

It is a type of virus. Some people get eruptions and some people never do, but I believe most people carry it.

viral infection resulting in an open sore/ulcer. usually found in and around the mucosa ( oral or vaginal) depending on location will be given different names..
can be found in nose or throat in individual with compromised immune system...

Cold sores are caused by the herpes virus. If you have this virus, there is no way to cure it (like any other virus). The virus remains in your body and flares up from time to time in the form of cold sores.
