It depends on genetics if you mean refined carbs, and if you are trying to address or prevent a health problem. If you have, or are genetically predisposed to, diabetes, arthritis, dementia or other chronic illnesses, then copious amounts of refined carbs are unhealthy.
I'm talking about mostly complex carbs. I mostly eat complex carbs that have fiber, especially legumes, but I also enjoy the sugary snack (no more than 100 calories though) once a day. The key thing is that it's once a day.
I prefer exotic white rice to brown but I add to the nutritional content by pairing it with my favorite beans of choice.
I finally read the ingredients list on a box of whole wheat pasta. The only ingredient is whole wheat. I had stopped getting it because I thought maybe it also contained white flour.
So I bought some. I really like it, it's so convenient. And whole wheat pasta can't be too bad for health, can it?
I looked up Barilla whole grain and it doesn't look bad, for pasta.
39 grams carbs
7 grams fiber
Personally, I wouldn't eat it day after day, but let's face it, there is a lot worse out there you could be eating.

That's the one I have been getting, I love it. I won't eat it every day, but probably very often.
