I need to buy individual health insurance in NJ and it seems there are only three or so companies offering coverage. I tried plugging in my information for different states and get many more options. I am turning 26 and healthy. Why is there so little in NJ?

If you have no immediate need, can you wait until January for coverage? Sign up in October for Obamacare through the exchanges. Figure your cost, here:

Subsidy Calculator | The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation

Otherwise, call an insurance broker. There must some low-cost, catastrophic coverage that would get you through until January.

Maybe I am doing it wrong but when I go to these actual websites they say that they do not offer coverage in NJ. The only two I really see are horizon and amerihealth.
