I was curious if anybody could tell me what commuting from somewhere near Selinsgrove to Harrisburg would be like? Is the traffic unbearably hectic for somebody traveling back and forth for a 9-5 position? How much extra time would be needed because of traffic? Is it a disaster getting out of Harrisburg around 5 p.m.? Any tricks or suggestions for somebody thinking of doing the commute? Thanks

I assume you would be heading north on 7th to Maclay to Cameron or just north on Cameron street out of the city. There's a lot of traffic, but it moves pretty smoothly through that area. The biggest headache is the traffic light at Cameron and Industrial/Elmerton avenue. Traffic will sometimes back up a half mile or longer from that light. Once past there, it is usually smooth sailing on 22/322 unless there is an accident.

Looking at a few job possibilities in Camp Hill but open to anything in Harrisburg. Good to know that traffic isn't too bad. Are there a lot of accidents that slow up traffic? Do people drive crazy during the rush hour periods? Thanks

Camp Hill is a little more tricky and may add some time. You would probably take Front street in Wormleysburg up to I-81 or the Camp Hill bypass into Harrisburg then to Cameron street that way. Either way you are adding 5-10 minutes onto your trip, not too bad.

I wouldn't say the roadways are too crazy, but there are always people driving aggressively trying to get some place faster. The problem is when there is an accident on the beltway it tends to just be a domino effect that ties up traffic around the whole city. I wouldn't say that happens too often, however.
