Hello,

I am interviewing for a job in Harrisburg. If I end up taking the job, I was thinking of moving to Lititz or Manheim TWP. How is the commute? I assume I would take Hwy 283. I would like to find a house under 300K. Is this possible in the area?

Thanks

Why not pick an area closer to Harrisburg?

Elizabethtown-Elizabethtown Borough - Lancaster County PA is a great little town and it's 20 minutes from Harrisburg.

Middletown-Middletown Borough - Dauphin County - PA is even closer yet at 10 minutes.

Lititz is a nice town to live in but the commute to Harrisburg will be at least 50 minutes. I think that is too far when there are plenty of nice communities closer to your work.

Yes you can find a nice house in the area for under 300K. I was born and raised in Lancaster County so I know it's a nice place to live and work.

Good Luck and feel free to ask me any questions about the area.

Default good questions

You make some good points. We have some family in the Lititz area. My wife and I are expecting our second child. It would really help to be close to family when the time comes.

I have about an hour commute now. I assumed everyone on the Eastern coast area had that long of a commute.

My wife travels from Lititz to Middletown everyday for work and it takes her about 45 minutes via Route 772 and I-283. Plenty of houses here in your price range. Good luck.

Nope. There is just no need to commute that far in the Harrisburg area. You can find less than 300k with great schools in a nice suburb ten minutes from downtown Harrisburg.

I concur. Though 30 minutes would be more realistic to give a really nice selection of places.
